As owner and managing director of a young and starting international consulting company, I share the desire to have excellent stays in hotels when traveling. In 2011 we started a Russian company division in Saint-Petersburg and Martin was our first choice. A good choice, so it seemed later. The young hotel is by far the best in its price and class. The location is ideal: few steps away from Nevsky Prospekt and multiple metro stations. The accommodation is a dream: historic restored building, modern rooms and all comfort you need. Of course, their are some basics that people should know before complaining about things like heating and etc. Russia has other climate than Europe, the buildings are heated by the central heating system of the city. So yes, when the heating is running it can not be deactivated but since every room is equipped with a good airco unit, this can be compensated. Agreed concerning smoking issue, however again: in Russia their is no smoking law and smoking is allowed in public building like bars/restaurants/airports/etc. Concerning the service offered: a true dream. Of course there are sometimes some mistakes, but come on. Who hasn't little mistakes? Martin Hotel solves and improves these in very little time. Improvements I saw between two months (visits) were i.e. the introducing of a restaurant service, special aid kits, upgrade of breakfast offer and more flexible hours. Moreover the reception staff is speaking good basic English, the bar staff speaks minimal English which is more than acceptable for ordering some drinks and the manager (daily operations) speaks fluently English. Apart of her language and down-to-earth character, she manage to fulfill with her team all wishes of the visitors. My respect. Martin becomes our preferred partner for business travel accommodation!
